S-OneLP recently was featured in a series of news articles from leading label and packaging trade publication Label & Narrow Web.
The magazine’s editor, Greg Hrinya, asked us to weigh in on trends in the food packaging space, and took an in-depth look at the company, particularly our sustainability initiatives that have gained the attention of industry experts after winning a Calvin Frost Sustainable Leadership award.
When it comes to flexible packaging food trends, S-OneLP’s VP of sales, Tom Hauenstein discussed a “total redefinition of the store shelf as we know it,” as e-commerce takes on greater importance and growing “challenger” brands are causing global CPGs to rethink their strategies.
“The traditional shelf is diversifying away from brick and mortar and becoming increasingly digital, with challenger brands and entrepreneurial startups competing on social media and with e-commerce models,” Hauenstein told the magazine. “This shift is leveling the playing field and chipping away at what was once a vast divide between startups and global CPGs at the store.”
It’s here that digital flexible packaging converters can win. S-OneLP can help converters in this dynamic flexible packaging space with a wide product portfolio of films, coatings, and capital equipment aimed at driving efficiency in this category.

The magazine also took a deep dive into S-OneLP to highlight our recent achievements, particularly the Sustainable Leadership Award for our ReEarth portfolio.
Hrinya not only examined our ReEarth compostable and ReTreve recyclable films, but he dug into our other product offerings, including the CatPak™ eBeam system, and Cellcoat T-Series thermal laminators. The editor looked back at S-OneLP’s history, starting with its launch in 2018, as the exclusive channel to market partner for Michelman primers and coatings.
S-OneLP has tripled its headcount since 2018, and added new products to its portfolio, including the best-selling Kustom Koating line of customizable primers and coatings for any printing situation.
Hauenstein again weighed in: “Our sales, marketing, and product management teams are engaged with the latest technology and industry demands. We will continue to provide timely information to our manufacturers to communicate our customers’ needs, educate them on environmental requirements, and passionately work to inform our customers and consumers on how and where to responsibly dispose of different kinds of packaging.”
